Hawzah News Agency– The head of Iran's Basij Organization says the United States sought to disrupt the Islamic Revolution's regional popularity by instigating a new conflict in the Strait of Hormuz, but once again failed against a nation it claimed had neither naval nor air power.
Hojatoleslam Hossein Taeb, the newly appointed commander of the Basij Organization, traveled to the holy city of Qom to meet with senior Shiite clerics and religious authorities.
During a meeting with Ayatollah Seyyed Ahmad Khatami, member of Iran's Assembly of Experts and interim Friday prayer leader of Tehran, Taeb said the magnificent funeral procession for the martyred commander in Iraq displayed Iran's regional power through the massive participation of the Iraqi people.
"The Americans witnessed the power of the Islamic Revolution during that funeral," he said, adding that Iraqi officials themselves admitted they had not expected such an enormous turnout.
The Basij chief said enemies realized that the popularity of this figure among his own nation and the nations of the region cannot be calculated by any conventional standard, and this popularity was clearly demonstrated to the world.
"To disrupt these dynamics, they instigated another conflict in the Strait of Hormuz and sought a new act of aggression, but by God's grace, the Americans — who claim Iranians have neither an air force nor a navy — once again faced defeat," Taeb said.
"Today, the Strait of Hormuz is under the management and control of the Islamic Republic, and our country continues on its path in complete security," he added.
